Busy times!

I have spent most of my afternoon downloading music since there seems to be some great music playing on the radio lately; Matisyahu, Muse, Bat for Lashes, Julian Plentie etc.  And, for those that have never heard of Matisyahu, his music almost always puts a smile on my face.  He is an orthodox Jew that sings reggae.  I am not sure it gets cooler than that.  And, for those of you that like Akira Yamoka, I was wasting time searching for music, and found KAVver on Akira's page.  KAVver has songs featured on a cd called Liminality - The Silent Hill Inspired Album: Revision, and I guess it is his interpretations of Akira's style.  He is offering free downloads of these songs (and it seems of almost all his music) at Last FM, so if you are looking for new music and like the electronic, ambient and alternative styles, then check out his page.  If you scroll down the page, you should see the free downloads that he offers.  Here's the link, http://www.last.fm/music/KAVver.

My grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer about a month ago, and she had her surgery to remove the lump this week.  Thankfully, it went well, and she may not even need chemotherapy.  Breast cancer really seems to run in my family, my aunt, my grandma, my great grandmas and great aunts, so the doctors finally decided to do a blood test to see if my grandma carried that mutant breast cancer gene.  For a while there I kind of thought we would all need masectomies (sp?) and would need boob jobs.  We would be the family with perkiest breasts around.  Thankfully, she does not carry the gene, so there will be no boob jobs anytime soon for any of us.  It is kind of surreal to see my grandma sick.  She is in her 70s, but acts and looks more like a lady in her 60s.  She has taken care of her health, and it shows.  She's always been so strong, that I really can't imagine her ever dying.  Obviously, unless I die first, Jesus returns or the world ends, I will see the day when my grandparents die, but for now she just seems immortal, and that is a thought that will get me in trouble if I don't deal with it now.
